360 bike ride in Athens – VR 360

The young bikers of VR360.gr recorded for the first time in 360 degrees video the new cycle route of Athens. Starting from the New Acropolis Museum, passing below the Parthenon, we rode down to Apostolou Pavlou str. and the Ermou pedestrian road, over the train bridge so to continue to Thessalonikis str.
Following the new, colored in red, cycle way up to Moschato neighborhood, we reached the area near Flisvos and the seaside pathway of the Athens Riviera all the way to Kalamaki.
It is a route passing by many attractions, monuments and natural beauties. The traffic is limited -so bikers may easily follow the route that we have filmed and presented in the 360 video.

This 360 degrees video simulates a riding feeling and allows the viewer to experience the conditions during motorcycle riding in a race track.
Four professional riders are riding their motorbikes around the track, competing each other, changing lines and going round tight turns with “knees down” like race riders.

360 video in Thessaloniki – VR 360

The Northern “capital” of Greece and the largest city of Macedonia region as never seen before!
We start our walk from Lefkos Pyrgos (White Tower) and continue across the old water frond reaching the famous Aristotelous square.
This is the first ever immersive 360 degrees video from Thessaloniki city and it was filmed and produced by VR360.gr.

360 Corporate – VR 360

Company presentations in 360 videos are more and more popular since it is the new way to present facilities, equipment, products and all operating departments. Particularly in shareholders meetings and investors presentations, a 360 video is considered to be the high – tech tool that will excite the participants. Can also be used for works recording and project’s certification, allowing to keep evidence of the installation progress. In cases where the onsite visit is not allowed, or is not accessible (as factory production sites, pharmaceutical laboratories, high altitude etc.), 360 videos are a means for a proper and impressive presentation. Specially when combined with the use of our drones fleet that allow to bypass obstacles and offer a complete view of the greater area and the facilities of interest.

Events – VR 360

VR360.gr specializes in recording of events and presentations by 360 degrees videos. They can be used for promotion in social networks media or private viewing. All can we experienced through virtual reality glasses. Recording by 360 degrees video can be used for confirmation purposes of a successfully organized event and guests’ participation.
The use of super large TV screens connected to virtual reality glasses is a very impressive mean of promotion in international exhibitions. And truly useful to Prefectures, Municipalities, the GNTO etc. Our company has already the experience. We produced four 3D-360 videos for the launching of the BMW M2 Coupe in Hungaroring F1 track in Budapest. Apart from the social media, the films were presented on site to journalists from all over the world. We used a specially designed and equipped area in the pit-lane of Hungaroring F1 track. A super large TV screen showed the VR videos and the attending journalists controlled the viewing angle with a motion capture device. Also, they had an amazing virtual experience by using the GearVR glasses even before driving the new BMW model! More than 350 journalists from all over the world attended the event and had this impressive VR experience!

360 Underwater – VR 360

If the discovery of the underwater world via a traditional video looks great to you, then the “dive” viewing a 360 degree video will leave you breathless! You feel like you are immersed in a water sphere, and by turning your head around you admire the underwater life… without the need of oxygen, while you remain secure and dry!
Its a fantastic way to discover the treasures hidden in the Aegean and the Ionian Sea (specially shipwrecks and planes).
Our company has already completed a series of underwater 360 recordings in many places of the Aegean Sea such as: Kea island- “The Patris Steem shipwreck”, Methoni- “Sarkofagoi” , Vouliagmeni – “The well” and more. We are the only company in Greece with fully owned equipment for submarine 360videos, with professional divers for 360 recording, as well as long experience in 360 video production, including post-production.

3D-360 24K camera system – VR 360

The Virtual Reality era demands 3 dimensional images and video files. In other words it is 3D-360. We are the only company in Greece that offers real 3D spherical (3D-360) videos recording. Our productions for international customers certify our efficiency for the systems we design and use. We are proud to introduce the advanced model VR360GR//3D-24K. This offers stereoscopic files of 360 degrees with Ultra-high resolution of 8K (8K per eye).

3D-360 24K system includes six optical lenses mounted on six CMOS SONY sensors of 12.76 Megapixels each. This array produces six independent files that are recorded in miniSD cards.
The VR360GR//2D-24K system offers a 45 minutes recording time that can be extended for much longer by use of external batteries and chargers (that are still portable) without the use of power outlet connection. The radial design of the mounting of the cameras offers holes for heat dissipation as well as central cooling channel. In case of long hours recording the cameras can have extra air cooling device on top operating like the PC central processors heat dissipation systems.
The great advantage of the VR360GR//2D-24K system against competitive systems for 3D- 360 VR video recording is the very small size and light weight. Can record in small size rooms (e.g. 2X2 meters) and also to be mounted in moving vehicles and drones. It also offers extended images overlap and thus maximum control of the parallax phenomenon in the final 3D-360 video file that is produced.

360 12K camera system – VR 360

After 10 months of research and development we are proud to present the new system for 360 degrees ultra HD  video recording   suitable for the most demanding users and VR producers.

Includes three optical lenses mounted on three CMOS SONY sensors of 12.76 Megapixels each. This produces three independent files that are recorded in miniSD cards or transferred to an external recording device for live streaming 360 video.

The setup uses suitable lenses and cameras array in order to cover fully the spherical field of view and produce an optimal 360 degrees file. After proper processing of the data and stitching the final video file can have maximum analysis of 8K at 30fps (frames per second). The VR360GR//2D-12K system offers a 45 minutes recording time that can be extended for much longer by use of external batteries and chargers (that are still portable) without the use of power outlet connection. The radial design of the mounting of the cameras offers holes for heat dissipation as well as central cooling channel. In case of long hours recording the cameras can have extra air cooling device on top operating like the PC central processors heat dissipation systems.
The big advantage of the VR360GR//2D-12K system against competitive systems for 360 VR video recording is the small size and the extended images overlap as well as maximum control of the parallax phenomenon in the final 360 video file that is produced. The system is ideal for events coverage offering live streaming of 360 degrees in high resolution of 4Κ (4096×2048 pixels). It is also compatible with Videostitch VahanaVR and Teradek Sphere software and hardware systems.

6GoPro VR360 rig – VR 360

This is the first camera mounting system that we designed and produced in our labs. We have tested this for a long time and it is very efficient and reliable.

WATCH THE VIDEO PRESENTATION

Six GoPro action cameras are used since these were the first small size cameras that could be mounted close together for a complete coverage of a spherical field of view of 360 degrees. Indeed this six cameras setup allows to have many areas of overlap so that the six images to “be connected” -stitched together and create one integrated image.
The VR360gr camera rig (mounting system) that you see today is the eighth operational version. It can be used with GoPro 4 and 3+ models either with or without the GoPro protective covers (extra holding cups are needed if used without housing).
Since the 6x GoPro rig does not offer to the VR director live preview monitor we developed a seventh camera mount. With this 7th camera in live preview mode the director can see a first look of the central part of the image without disturbing the recording or interfering in the 360 degrees field of view.
With the GoPro cameras properly adjusted, the rig can offer an optimum 4K resolution video file of spherical image (360 degrees)  at 30fps (frames per second).
This rig that is specially designed for VR recording is now available for renting from Rent Photo Video  company  (www.rentphotovideo.gr– tel: +30 211 7101105). It includes 6 xGoPros 3+ fully adjusted, remote control, 6 extra batteries, battery chargers and 6 microSD cards of 32Gb each). Now the only thing you need in order to record your 360 videos is to… press the recording button.

VR SETTINGS OF GoPro CAMERAS

For better results and an easier stitch process of the 6 files that produce the GoPro cameras, it is recommended to have the following setup.

  • 1440p 60fps(4) or 2,7 K 30fps 4:3
  • Low light mode: off
  • Spot meter: off
  • Protune: on
  • WB: Native
  • Color: Flat
  • ISO: 400
  • Sharpness: low
  • Exposure: 0

IMPORTANT NOTE: In order to be able to stitch the 6 files to one integrated 360 degrees file you need to properly “synchronize” the video files captured (by audio synchronization or optically).
The separate video files’ processing and stitching can be done by use of special software (as for example Nuke VR Cara, Videostitch, Autopano, Mystika and others). We offer consultancy services and stitching-post production services if needed.
